Plains performed a sometimes haunting, often melodic, always beautiful live set on Pipeline! tonight. Audio podcast available here. Video coming soon.

Deconstructing Abbey
It was a packed and enthused crowd that closed the doors of the Abbey Lounge last night. Inside, you could overhear people talking about their attachments to the place everywhere you went. At least the place went out with a bang. My ears are still ringing.
Kickin’ it Abbey Style
Packed, and a little uncomfortable.
This week on Pipeline! 11/25/08: Baixa & Guatemala City
It looks like it is a two fer Tuesday this week on Pipeline! with visits from Baixa and Guatemala City. As always, you can listen to WMBR during the live feed and podcasts are available through the WMBR archives.
Coctopus: Track 1
More of what’s old is new, it’s Coctopus pt 2. We’ll see if the minions that dwell in youtube make more libelous statements regarding Iron Maiden with this one. Let’s get tubed.
Closing Time at the Abbey Lounge
I haven’t been in Boston in what feels like years now but luckily am back next week, just in time for the closing of the Abbey Lounge. It friggin sucks to see it come to this, the closing of another good venue due to boring as hell back tax issues and other money BS. Of all the lame non-punk ways to bite it – where’s a good (non-fatal, non-disfiguring) pyrotechnic mishap when you need one? The Abbey has been open for 75 years though, a good run by any estimation. Here’s a sampling of who’s playing at the LAST BLAST party on the 26th.
The Konks
Muck and the Mirers
Sprained Ankles
Tampoffs
Triple Thick
